Project Information

The Crude Oil Refinery Setup in Southern Kazakhstan is a key downstream initiative by TOO “KGNG Refinery” aimed at strengthening the region’s energy infrastructure and reducing dependency on imported refined fuels. Designed as a modular and scalable facility, the refinery was strategically located to serve both production basins and growing consumer markets in southern and central Kazakhstan.

Project Overview

The refinery project was conceived to:

  • Process crude oil extracted from local and regional fields

  • Produce a consistent supply of refined fuels, including diesel, gasoline, and kerosene

  • Ensure energy security and price stability in the region

  • Minimize environmental impact through modern, cleaner refining technologies

Scope Of Work

The scope of work (SOW) for a project at the KGNG Refinery would define the specific tasks, deliverables, and objectives that need to be accomplished, ensuring that everyone involved has a clear understanding of the project’s requirements. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of what the scope of work might look like for a refinery site-based project:

Infrastructure Upgrades

Expansion of processing units and storage tanks to increase capacity and meet growing demand for refined products.

Replacement or refurbishment of aging pipelines, valves, and other critical components to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Installation or upgrade of wastewater and waste management systems to comply with environmental standards.

Safety Enhancements

Upgrading fire suppression systems and other emergency response mechanisms to ensure the refinery is prepared for potential hazards.

Environmental Compliance

Implementing systems for reducing emissions, such as desulfurization units, to meet air quality standards.
